CONDITIONS TO USE THIS BLOG (Disclaimer)

This blog is intended to promote medical knowledge by posting some top-rated Medical eBooks (complete eBooks, not only few chapters)... You can download them for free and use them during a temporary period... After you evaluate them, YOU MUST BUY THE BOOKS you want... It is unfair you to keep a copy without paying it because authors must earn money to survive!! You are responsible for your acts!
Sometimes we think a book is superb, we buy it, and after some reading we get disappointed and we think "I wasted my money with this useless book! What a fool I was!"...
This blog will help you to choose what are the books you really think that deserve to be bought by you...

This blog sells NOTHING directly; everything here is free, demonstrative and educational, allowing you to purchase the books you want, later, when you want, where you want (this blog is NOT a store/shop/marketplace); you cannot directly buy contents here, otherwise this blog would be illegal... So, if you want to buy books, go to your favorite store/shop/marketplace...

To buy "printed books" ("PaperBack" or "HardCover"), I suggest Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/).

If you prefer to buy eBooks ("digital books"), I suggest eBooks.com (http://www.ebooks.com/).

You can find more information about "eBooks Technology" at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ebook)

For doubts, suggestions, comments; you can contact me via eMail. And if a link becomes dead/broken; you can contact me by eMail or post a comment, and I promptly will re-upload it! Every time a link becomes dead/broken; just let me know, and I promptly will re-upload it as many times as needed!

My eMail is:

VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

Keeping a blog has costs, and I cannot pay them alone...

If everybody wants to get eBooks for free, contributing nothing to help my blog surviving, this blog can be paused or even can die...

Whenever I am facing problems due to "Lack of Donations" and/or "CopyRight/DMCA Paranoid Persecution" I will suspend blog's activity (new posts) and/or access (you will see the message "This blog is open to invited readers only"), WITHOUT PREVIOUS WARNING (the warning is this message you are reading right now).

However, if you try to access this blog and you get the "This blog is open to invited readers only" message; it does NOT mean the definitive death this blog; it means it is paused and can be resumed/accessed later; so you can have access again on another day...

I assume NO obligatory compromises about keeping the blog up-to-date, nor accessible/active versus inaccessible/paused...

Periodically I post a "SnapShot" of this blog - you can download it while being online, and re-use when blog is not accessible.

Lastest "SnapShot":

I also recommend you to subscribe this blog's feed by "FeedBlitz" (feed-to-email; see below) because, although a little delayed, it will show you descriptions and download links even if blog is inaccessible at a moment...

=>:) If you are a person which gets a great benefit/advantage using this blog, you want it to continue accessible and active, and so you will donate, in order to keep it alive...

If you do not donate, it means you do no care about it, and if everybody does the same, this blog will die...
If everybody donates, even a ridiculous small fee such as $ 1, it will be enough to keep this blog alive...
Thus, YOU will decide the FUTURE of this Blog!!...

A second way you can help this blog surviving is to click on the "ads" (advertisements - "Ads by Google")

At last, the third way to help this blog surviving is adding new eBooks you have (which are not posted here yet). You can send me it (them) by eMail or use the following direct uploading box:

Internal Medicine CaseBook - Real Patients, Real Answers

14801842

Description:

Developed by the internal medicine residency teaching staff at the University of Colorado, this book presents patient-oriented cases for 88 diseases in all areas of internal medicine. Case studies follow a question-and-answer format that mirrors rounds presentations. Each case study walks you through the workup and management of the problem and reviews the underlying pathophysiology. The book is an excellent review tool for resident in-service exams or American Board of Internal Medicine certification exams. This edition's questions and problems have been extensively rewritten to incorporate new diagnostic methods and treatments. Coverage of urology and hepatology has been expanded.

This book is a review, in patient-oriented case format, of 90 of the more important and commonly encountered internal medicine problems and diseases. This is the second edition. The purpose is to provide real patient cases in internal medicine that enhance and motivate learning for both medical students and house staff. These objectives are both worthy and needed and are met by the editor. The book is written for medical students and house staff physicians rotating through internal medicine and the subspecialty branches. It is also written as a teaching aid for attending physicians involved in medical education. In my opinion, this book would also be an excellent teaching tool for family medicine and emergency medicine. Each chapter contributor is a sub-specialist in the area of internal medicine for which the chapter is written. All appear to be credible authorities in the subject matter. The book contains ten selected topics in internal medicine. Within each selected topic (i.e., endocrinology), five to 12 different diseases (i.e., diabetes mellitus) are covered in a question-and-answer format. In the first paragraph the reader is prompted to answer general questions about the specific disease itself. Answers are provided in the second paragraph. This is followed by a single case presentation of the disease. The reader is then prompted to answer questions about pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management of each case. A detailed discussion of the case questions serves as a conclusion. This is a very effective and stimulating way of delivering information. The question format allows readers to think about the answer prior to reading further, challenging their knowledgebase. The cases are up-to-date, realistic, and pertinent. The answers are thoroughly discussed with detailed and relevant information. The chapters are set up such that individual internal medicine topics are easy to find and each disease within the chapter is clearly marked out in bold print. Considering the vast expanse of internal medicine and the size of the book, the editor and contributors have done an excellent job of selecting and covering the most pertinent information. This is an excellent book for the purpose of teaching medical students and house staff physicians in internal medicine, family medicine, and emergency medicine. It is practical and all residents and attending staff physicians should know this material completely. This book can be used as a teaching aid for acquiring relevant knowledge during a medical rotation or complementing exam preparation.

Constipation - Etiology, Evaluation and Management

23723176

Description:

The second edition revised and updated edition is a comprehensive text on the etiology, evaluation and management of chronic, intractable constipation, which as well as being debilitating, is a complaint with many causes and can also be a symptom of more serious pathological changes.

Innovations include Professor Norman Williams’ Malone Procedure (antegrade continent colonic conduit) and the newer pharmacologic treatments such as nitric oxide and botulinum toxin injections. Written by an international panel of authors, it includes all the new advances developed, described and tested since the first edition - biofeedback, surgery for constipation, sacral nerve stimulation, the use of laparoscopy for rectal prolapse, treament and our understanding of some of the psychological problems of these patients.

The book is essential for coloproctologists, general surgeons and, with chapters on irritable bowel syndrome, botulinum toxin and other new pharmacologic approaches, will also appeal to gastroenterologists.

This is a comprehensive reference for healthcare providers who treat patients with constipation. Unlike many works on constipation, this one draws equally from medical and surgical perspectives. The first edition was published in 1995. The editors sought to produce a book that would address the many facets of constipation, a common but often misunderstood disorder. This book accomplishes this goal, largely due to the multidisciplinary coverage of the various topics related to constipation. As a practicing gastroenterologist with a special interest in this disorder, I found the in-depth coverage of surgical approaches to constipation very helpful. Although the authors state in the preface that this is a book for those who manage constipation, they do not clearly state for what level of practitioner it is written. The level of complexity of the book makes it best suited to physicians with subspecialty interest and training in constipation. The amount of detail would not suit the needs of most students, residents, and general practitioners. The authors are largely well known in the field of motility and colorectal disorders. The book begins with the basics of constipation including definitions, epidemiology, and a helpful chapter with physical examination techniques. The middle portion of the book is a series of chapters on anorectal physiologic evaluation. The inclusion of this type of information is especially important since many of these techniques, often available only in referral centers, will not be familiar even to subspecialists. The latter section of the book is devoted to treatment of constipation with a heavy focus on surgical techniques. The detailed illustrations of the surgical procedures provide a unique opportunity to understand the operations, since most published reviews rely heavily on written descriptions. For the most part, the authors clearly point out the limitations of the various procedures.

Crib Death - Sudden Unexplained Death of Infants - Pathologist's Viewpoint

24006420

Description:

Crib death (SIDS) is the most frequent cause of death for infants during the first year, striking 1 out of every 700-1,000. Scarce knowledge in the field of SIDS and its pathology has led to a continued and growing concern with finding an explanation, with the goal of being able to either predict or quickly diagnose the infant or term fetus.

A systematic study of the autonomic nervous system and cardiac system has been performed on a large number of infants and fetuses who died suddenly and unexpectedly, as well as in age-matched control cases. The neurological and cardiac findings are described here, and the relationship between SIDS and unexplained fetal death is discussed.

This book helps pathologists, forensic pathologists, pediatricians, obstetrics, and neonatologists in recognizing all potential morphological substrata and puts forward a well-researched postmortem study for use in a standardized autopsy protocol for use in all cases of sudden unexpected infant and fetal death.

This monograph is based on the author's PhD thesis defended in 2004 and more than a dozen original papers she wrote on the subject of sudden unexplained death in infants. The thesis has been updated with newer references. The main aim is to present the details of author's research of crib death. With this book, she is relaying the knowledge and experience she has gathered by studying this intriguing topic over many years at the Institute of Pathology of the University of Milan. This book is written for forensic and autopsy pathologists, neonatologists and other pediatricians, gynecologists, and public health workers. The secondary audience includes laboratory histotechnicians, pediatric nurses, medical students, and general medical practitioners who will from time to time turn to it for in-depth information about sudden death in a baby or an infant. The author is a recognized, well published authority on sudden death in infants and the Institute of Pathology in Milan is a regional center for the study of this medical problem. The material is presented very systematically under six major headings: introduction and aims; material and methods; results; discussion; concluding remarks; summary. The book concludes with 286 references and a subject index. There are 64 color figures, many of which are informative, but some are hard to fathom or interpret. Some figures are unfortunately out of focus.

Brain - a Very Short Introduction

14739647

Description:

This book provides a non-technical introduction to the main issues and findings in current brain research and gives a sense of how neuroscience addresses questions about the relationship between the brain and the mind. Short, clear discussions on the mechanical workings of the brain are offered and the details of brain science are covered in an accessible style. Explanations of the more familiar implications of the brain's actions, such as memories, perceptions, and motor control are integrated throughout the book. It has chapters on brain processes and the causes of "altered mental states," as well as a final chapter that discusses possible future developments in neuroscience, touching on artificial intelligence, gene therapy, the importance of the Human Genome Project, drugs by design, and transplants. Up-to-date coverage of the newest developments in brain research and suggestions for future research on the brain are also included.
